Have you taken a look at the dining and snacking options in roadside gas station and grab-and-go stores? While some of them have improved their options, the vast majority of establishments really don’t offer much in the way of healthy eating. That means you either go without or grab something that probably doesn’t improve your health. However, there is some planning that you can do to make it so you don’t get desperate and don’t have to rely on those not-so-good-for-you items.
For starters, a cooler is going to make life that much easier. You can stash everything from low-fat cheese to low-fat yogurt. A few gel ice packs, which are reusable to boot, are going to keep things at just the right temperature, too, and reusable containers make packing your snacks and meals easy. What other things do you need in order to make life on the road edible?
