With Dual Mode exhaust ( NPP ) the two center exhaust tips have vaccum activated butterly flaps that are closed normally.
Exhaust is quiet with flaps closed but when RPM's reach 3500 or more the flaps open and exhaust is louder.
You can also get a Mild to Wild switch installed that lets you open the exhaust when ever you want and keep it open.
Or, close it when ever you want.
Either way, it still opens at 3500 RPM or more.
